Central Bank of Jordan Incident response team (Jo-FinCERT) recognized as a (FIRST) full member.
Jordan's Central Bank's Cyber Incident Response Team, Jo-FinCERT, has been recognized by the international organization, Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). This recognition makes Jo-FinCERT a member of the largest non-profit organization in the world specializing in information security incident response and cybersecurity teams. Founded in 1990, FIRST includes numerous global companies and organizations interested in enhancing cybersecurity and internet security. Additionally, the organization allows its members to benefit from the accumulated experience and knowledge of its members and share best practices and tools in the fields of cybersecurity and incident response.
In this regard, Dr. Khalduon Al-Wshah, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, stated that the inclusion of Jo-FinCERT in FIRST represents a significant step towards enhancing the technical and professional capabilities of the financial and banking sector's incident response team to efficiently and effectively deal with the increasing cyber challenges. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and international cooperation in this field, especially in light of the growing cyber threats around the world.
From his side, Ibrahim Al-Shafei, the Executive Manager of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Unit at the Central Bank of Jordan, expressed his gratitude in Jo-FinCERT team's recognition and membership in one of the most prominent international organizations in the field of incident response teams (FIRST). He highlighted that the Central Bank of Jordan recognizes the importance of enhancing the capabilities of the financial and banking sector in the Kingdom to face the increasing cyber threats, which requires coordination with all local and international parties to share information on cyber threats in real-time and exchange experiences and expertise among them.
