- The Research Department is in charge of enabling the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) to formulate and implement its monetary policy. The department assumes the following tasks in particular
- Conducting researches and reports as well as making recommendations related to the formulation and implementation of the monetary policy.
- Conducting researches and reports in various economic fields, especially the fields of investment, commercial policy, fiscal policy, and public budget. Besides, it offers the necessary recommendations in order to enhance growth and economic development.
- Following up monetary, fiscal, and economic developments inside the Kingdom and abroad.
- Following up the relations of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with regional and international financial institutions.
- Publishing researches and information related to the monetary and economic status in the Kingdom. Such publications include the Monthly Statistical Bulletin and CBJ's Annual Report in Arabic and English languages and periodic reports.
- Preparing for, following up, and participating in the Kingdom's periodic consultations with regional and international financial institutions as well as foreign economic delegations.
- Studying laws and regulations affecting the economic environment in the Kingdom and offering relevant recommendations.
- Preparing macroeconomic models for Jordan's economy to analyze and evaluate the economic policies and make predictions on Jordan's economic performance.
- Periodically following up and updating the statistical database of Jordan's economy.
- Developing and updating the economic leading indicators (LEI).
- Allowing interested researchers and learners to benefit from the services provided by CBJ's specialized Library (CBJL).
- Carryout risks and supervisory controls self-assessment related to the unit’s function in coordination with the Risk management and compliance department per the related instructions and the adopted methodologies to determine the levels and methods of processing and managing risks.
