Payment Systems, Domestic Banking Operations, and Financial Inclusion Department

The Payment Systems, Domestic Banking Operations, and Financial Inclusion Department is responsible for providing domestic banking services to customers of CBJ, managing and developing payment and settlements systems operated by CBJ, and promoting financial inclusion. The department particularly assumes the following tasks :
- Maintaining and managing the accounts of members of the Real Gross Settlements System – Jordan (RTGS-JO) in the currencies defined in the System, in addition to following up the transactions made on members' accounts.
- Maintaining and managing accounts of CBJ's customers in Jordanian Dinar (JOD).
- Managing payment and settlements systems operated by CBJ efficiently, effectively, and safely, in addition to ensuring the highest level of business continuity the systems can provide.
- Executing remittances and / or payment orders in the Jordanian Dinar, which cannot be executed through the payment and settlements systems, and crediting / debiting these orders on members and customers' accounts.
- Executing processes of cashing cheques and cash vouchers.
- Collecting and settling the banking cheques deposited to the customers' accounts, as well as the purchased cheques and those received from the electronic cheque-clearing center.
- Promoting financial inclusion by providing and delivering various creative financial services in high quality and at the minimum costs per the best standards and practices in this field.
- Enhancing cooperation with regional and international entities in the fields of payment and settlements systems and financial inclusion.
- Conducting studies and periodic reports, as well as providing recommendations related to the department business and its development.
- Carryout risks and supervisory controls self-assessment related to the departments function in coordination with the Risk management and compliance department per the related instructions and the adopted methodologies to determine the levels and methods of processing and managing risks.
