Wednesday February 14th, 2007. The Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan Dr. Umayya Toukan met in his office the Ambassador of the State of Qatar Mr. Mana Al-Hajri and discussed all cooperation areas between The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and The State of Qatar in the banking and financial sectors. The Governor also briefed the Ambassador on the Central Bank of Jordan’s monetary policy and its role in the banking supervision. Furthermore, the Governor briefed the Ambassador on other activities offered by the Bank such as issuing banknotes and coins, managing the foreign currency reserves, and managing the volume of liquidity in the national economy to be compatible with the financing needs of the economic activity and the targeted levels of inflation and interest rates.
